Date Of Birth: July 11, 1916
Date Of Death: May 9, 2009
Jane Shideler Lynn peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, May 9, after nearly 93 years of truly living life! Born July 11, 1916 in Indianapolis, Jane leaves her beloved husband, John S. Lynn, She raised 3 children who love the Lord: John A. Lynn (Elizabeth), Charles J. Lynn II [deceased] (Cheri) and Judi Lynn Klug. She also leaves five grandchildren: Dr. Christine Lynn Norton (Billy), Corban Klug (Marcy), Abigail Lynn, Andrew Klug (Brie) and Charles J. Lynn III; and three great-grandchildren (Mahalia and Will Norton, and Samuel Klug).A Phi Beta Kappa member at Depauw University, she met John, the love of her life in the Fall of 1937 and they would have celebrated 69 years of marriage on June 8, 2009. Raised Episcopalian and “retread” into Second Presbyterian Church, Jane loved to read her Bible for hours each day. For her last 50 years, she and John faithfully shared the Word of God at scores of Christian gatherings, and her practical wisdom and joyful personality touched hearts far and wide.Jane was a cheerful giver, who selflessly cared for her family for almost three quarters of a century, along with countless others the Lord brought to her. Always confessing what the Word of God says, she was a bright light of Christ’s love, unwavering joy, relentless faith in both the goodness of her God and the faithfulness of her Precious Savior, Jesus Christ. We will carry with us her legacy of what Christ-like love looks like. Her next thought will be face-to-face with Christ her Savior. And we will see her again when the trumpet of the Lord sounds and Time is no more! Instead of sending flowers, please help spread the love of God which Mom lived by making a donation in her name to her local church: Hope International Ministries, Pastor Jeanne Huiett, 1205 E. Judi and family,
My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family. I cannot say that you lost your Mama because you know where she is, however this earth won’t be the same without her for you. Judi I know how much you cherished every moment you had with her and I know she shared those same feelings about you. You are a reflection of her as I read the obituary. Everything written there sounds like you. She taught you well my dear friend. I wish I could be there in person, but know I am there in spirit. God bless you and keep you safe in His arms. Blessings, prayers, hugs and much much love to you.
Foofie….

When Eloise Valinet picked me up to bring me to your Tuesday Night Fellowship the first time, she said, “John and Jane’s marriage had to be made in heaven.” Then you told me, Jane,….”I was so shot with John that we didn’t need any outside help in beginning our beautiful marriage.” Its goodlight rays will go forth forever. Love, Carolyn

Mrs. Lynn and her practical, loving teaching of the Word will never be forgotten. I can hear her voice, I can hear her laughter, I can see her sparkling blue eyes. My daughter and many other young women have benefited from the patient hours that she gave me as a young woman.
Loren and I will never forget her ability to lead a song in fellowship! It was certainly never dragging or dull…and then, of course, she taught us how to do it.
Mr. Lynn, Judi and family – you are in our hearts and prayers. We’ll see you soon.

Great healing came to my child because of the blessings and prayers offered. Mrs. Lynn was a wonderful testimony of what a woman of God is. I am the luckiest girl in the world…Jane Lynn was my grandmother. For years, she made every holiday, every family memory special. Yesterday, when I walked into her home on Highland Manor Court, she was not there. My dear grandmother will be greatly missed. But my faith reminds me, I will see her again someday! Praise God!
Prudence Hoffman says
Dear Judi,
Thank you for sending notice of your dear mother’s passing. You and your dad must be missing her laughter and smiles. I cannot imagine waking up without my partner in life of 69 years! You have had a rare opportunity to spend time with her in your adult life. It must be harder on you than most children who lose their mothers to start your life again without her.
I always enjoyed going over to your house for a visit when I was a teenager, and not just to spend time with you. Your parents were so fun and full of fire and wit. Your mom and dad had a special way of making life a little lighter, a little warmer. Your mother was dedicated to Christ and the love she found in the words of Jesus shined from her on everyone she met.
I will keep you and your dear father in my prayers as you move through the celebration of her life and the changes you must make without her.
With love to all your family,
Prudence
